To the Class of 1855: The photos on the right-hand, even-numbered pages are reproduced from the photographic likeness made in 1855, just before graduation. The left-hand, odd-numbered pages give the latest obtainable picture of the same person in maturer 50 years later. The names of deceased classmates are starred. The likeness of those who did not graduate with us, but whose pictures we have, are, according to our old custom, included here. Out of our full roll of ninety-two, fifteen took the star in our first twenty-five years. Out of the seventy-seven who were with us in 1880, forty are gone, and thirty-seven still remain. Edwin H. The photos on the right are oval and approx 2.75 X 33.75 The photos on the left range in size from 3.5 X 5.5 , 2.5 X 3.5 . Some of the photos are Military photos. 78 pictures of Class of 1855. The odd numbered pages may not have a picture (may be deceased or lost contact which I counted 15 blank odd numbered pages). ALSO, included are correspondences bewtwwen Edwin Abbot and Harvard University Library trying to obtain a copy of the book. The spine cover is missing. title HARVARD written in marker on spine foundation . There is a bookstore sticker on the front inner cover and the front and back hinges are cracked. .The book's leather corners and spine are rubbed with scratches. On the pages inside show the students graduation photograph and then across from it is a photograph of them 50 years later. General wear.
